Listen to those tiny “voices” in our bodies, cheering us on to consume more nutrient dense and whole foods, like the quality foods that are easily found in Quality Greens.

When we think about our health, something to keep in mind is that health starts at the very small point of our cells (it’s also said that it starts even smaller, with our bacteria, but that’s another blog).  Our cells make up every part of us -  our blood, bones and tissues.  Our tissue become our organs, and our organs become systems, and our systems become our full body.  If any group of our cells aren’t happy, then our very foundation and function will not be performing at its true potential.

Cells are pretty basic and their needs are few.  It seems there are 4 main needs of our cells - take in nutrients, release toxins, keep away bad guys, and create healthy new versions of itself.  Really, cells are a very small version of us in the way they make us into “us”.  Also, their needs are pretty much identical to our full body's needs with those same 4 basic items listed above, with shelter and love also being important for both us and cells as well.  Need to love those cells!

The function of our cells is fascinating.  Add to that the DNA instructions on how the hundreds of different cells know what they are each meant to do, based on their contents and function, they are really brilliant little helpers.  There is too much information about cells for a simple blog to do justice, so the intention here is to just pause and think about what we put into our bodies and how our tiny cells will use those foods and nutrients to do its job of keeping us alive and thriving.

So, how do we help our cells be their best?  We give them the few things they need and avoid stuff that causes them problems.  Take in easy to absorb nutrients, water, and healthy fats for proper working cell membranes that let the good stuff in and the wastes out.  Then, avoid negative substances that are not good for them - toxins, sugars, chemicals, bad fats and low nutrient/poor quality foods.  Thinking positive thoughts can also be helpful to our cells.

Health is built on what we eat today, which is used to build our cells tomorrow.  It is never too late to create new healthy cells - you can start this minute.   Make choices that will benefit at the cell level to become our true best potential.  Start by adding 1 more veggie or real, whole food item to your daily intake and see how your cells react.  Imagine your cells cheering you on as you provide them with the tools they need to help you thrive.
