We have so many choices we have to make each day. Sometimes those choices feel heavy, but many choices can, and should, feel helpful and supportive of our selves and those around us.
When we build a foundation of choices that go in the direction of making things better, that can be an amazing source of positive energy. Positive energy is what can keep us feeling up when things are down.
An example of this is supporting businesses that look out for us. What does that means and how do they do that?
Business the look out for us means that they provide goods and services that promote personal health and simplicity. These options are hard to find at times, but they are there, we just need to search. They also focus on doing things that are beneficial for the environment in the many ways that they operate. From how they handle waste and lessen impact on pollution, to providing services that honour this big blue marble that we are on.
Did you know that your local Quality Greens market is one of those businesses that checks off all of those boxes? And they support and give to other organizations that provide critical services to our community. Local helping local, and that always gives hope and ability to people in the community who need it the most.
Not to mention that right in your local Quality Greens you can find an impressive variety of local (less pollution from transportation and packaging) whole foods that is healthy for both you, your family, and your community. If you have already been in the store, you know what I mean. If you haven’t or it’s been a while, I suggest you check it out, as the feel in the store is so very different from the big box stores.
Here are just some of the ways that you can count on your local Quality Greens Market:
We offer cloth reusable bags, cardboard boxes and 100% biodegradable plastic bags.
We use biodegradable and compostable corn-based packaging for take away containers and cups in our deli.
We offer a variety of Fair Trade, Non-GMO Project Verified and Organic products.
Any unsellable food is provided to local food banks; food and waste materials (like carrot tops) are provided to farmers and the SPCA for their animals.
Quality Greens is committed to the communities that we serve. We do our best to support local groups that have values and goals consistent with ours. We have been a 20 year partner with the CIBC Run for the Cure as well as a long term supporter of the BC SPCA.
This is one way that you can make health and simple choices on buying local whole foods, and support those community based businesses, and the families who run them, to keep other important local supportive community services going. A huge win across the board!
Have a great week!
Lisa.
