These low-carb lettuce wraps are packed with flavour and sure to be a new family favourite. They’re fast, easy, and almost foolproof to make—even for inexperienced cooks. Perfect toppings are hot peppers, crushed peanuts, chili flakes, sesame seeds, or carrots cut into matchsticks for a little extra veg.
1 tablespoon avocado or olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 pound ground pork
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
Romaine lettuce leaves, separated (3 hearts of Romaine or 1 full head)
2 green onions (scallions), chopped
Optional:
1 carrot, cut into matchsticks
Sliced hot peppers, chili flakes, sesame seeds or crushed peanuts to garnish
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ginger and garlic and cook briefly until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add ground pork and cook, stirring, until no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Add hoisin sauce and sriracha and stir until combined and heated through.
Spoon pork mixture into lettuce leaves and sprinkle with chopped green onions and any additional garnishes. Serve with extra hoisin sauce or sriracha sauce as desired.
