6 lbs Ambrosia apples (about 12 apples)
½ cup apple cider (not vinegar)
½ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice
¼ teaspoon salt
Prepare apples by peeling, coring and chopping
Add all ingredients to a slow cooker
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Stir and let sit uncovered on low for an additional 2 hours.
Use an immersion blender (or transfer to a blender) to blend until smooth consistency.
Let cool completely and transfer to mason jars for storing and/or gifting!
Makes about 4 cups.
Store in the refrigerator and use within 2 weeks. You can also use a canning process to extend the shelf life.
