This Parmesan Baked Rutabaga is a cozy, tasty twist on root veggies. The rutabaga bakes up golden and crispy, with a cheesy garlic and paprika seasoning that makes it irresistibly savoury. It’s an easy side dish that’s sure to bring warm, fall flavours to your table!
1 large rutabaga, peeled and cut into thin wedges or rounds
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with oil.
Prepare Rutabaga: Place the rutabaga wedges in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
Season and Coat: In a separate bowl, mix the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the rutabaga, tossing until the wedges are well-coated.
Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the rutabaga in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure the pieces aren’t overcrowded, so they crisp up nicely.
Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the rutabaga is golden and crispy on the edges.
Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot, and enjoy!
