1 bunch of asparagus (about 12–16 spears), trimmed
6–8 slices of bacon (cut in half if needed)
Olive oil (optional)
Freshly ground black pepper
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Wash and trim the woody ends off the asparagus.
Take 2–3 spears and wrap them with 1 slice of bacon (or wrap individual spears if they're thicker). Place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Drizzle lightly with olive oil (optional), then sprinkle with black pepper.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender.
Optional broil: For crispier bacon, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end—just keep a close eye on it!
