Now this is autumn comfort—sweet, tender Bartlett pears baked to perfection and drizzled with warm maple syrup, a hint of vanilla, and a touch of cinnamon. Soft and juicy on the inside with a naturally caramelised top, they’re perfect on their own or dressed up with crunchy nuts, creamy yogurt, or a swirl of whipped coconut cream. A simple, cozy dessert that’s as easy to make as it is delicious.
4 ripe Bartlett pears, halved and cored
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon melted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional but lovely)
A pinch of sea salt
Optional toppings: chopped pecans or walnuts, Greek yogurt or whipped coconut cream, extra drizzle of maple syrup
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Halve and core the Bartlett pears, leaving the stems for a rustic look if you like. Arrange them cut-side up in a small baking dish.
In a bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, vanilla, melted butter (or coconut oil), cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
Spoon the mixture evenly over the pears, letting it pool in the centers.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the pears are tender when pierced with a fork but still hold their shape.
Cool slightly, then serve warm with toppings of your choice—crunchy nuts, creamy yogurt, or a soft swirl of whipped coconut cream.
