Pico de Gallo
Sweet Walla Walla onions are ideal when making a fresh and flavour-packed Pico de Gallo (also known as Salsa Fresca). Serve it up with tacos, nachos, or your favourite Mexican inspired meals. Spicy or mild, choose your own adventure for this light and zesty summertime dip.
Ingredients
4 Roma tomatoes
1 large Walla Walla onion (can substitute white or red onion)
2 Serrano, jalapeno or peppers of choice
1 bunch cilantro
1 - 2 limes
Sea salt to taste
Directions
- Chop tomatoes, onions and peppers to desired size and add to a bowl.
- Chop cilantro and add to mixture.
- Squeeze in lime juice and season with salt to taste.
- Let mixture rest for about 15 minutes before serving to allow time for flavours to mingle.
